A Soul-Saving Woman
Yes, that's how I would describe my wife. She has recently revived her spirit of preaching to parents of Aveline's nursery friends. She eventually took the plunge and gathered her courage to invite people up to our house for a bible study. Just over a week ago, we had a German friend Karen, a Canadian friend Marcy, a Mexican friend Rosanna, and a Malaysian friend Gini. We have had a morning and an afternoon session.
The two people who were touched by the Word of God was Rosanna and Gini. Out of the two of them, Gini was touched because we had time to kneel down and pray. Before we knelt down, we had a session talking about water baptism as well as praying for the Holy Spirit, the whats and whys of those two topics. And it was just a matter of covering points on my part that I had apparently hit the nail on the head concerning doubt.
It was only after we knelt down to pray that Gini testified how she stopped doubting. And when we sang hymns she wept because she was touched. Then when we actually knelt down to pray, she prayed without doubt and experienced the ground shaking. After her testimony, I immediately thought of the verse in Acts 4.31, "And when they had prayed the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness."
And it is God's grace that after that preaching session, her husband Keith returned for a holiday with the family and had dinner with us. Thank God, though Keith was a little shy at first, he talked more than any where else he had been to. He enjoyed seeing Markus play with our two kids. Though Keith had mentioned that Gini should worship the ancestors and his gods, Gini declined by changing the subject. This gives us an indication that Gini is certainly going to face battles with regards to her holding faith with Christ against Keith's superstitious background.
Anyway, the reason for my writing this is to testify how my wife has revived her spirit of evangelism from the days when she was in Germany. Now the gift of evangelising is in her truly. May you join me in prayer that God fully use her in bringing many more people to Christ. I thank God for her with all my heart.
