Tough Choice & Easy Choice

One thing that I have found in my faith journey is that there were certain decisions that were easy and some were difficult. For example, not to sleep with someone before I was married was easy because I didn't want to endanger my soul in Hell. It would not be worth it. God was not asking much from me if I wanted my marriage to be blessed. So, for me to make and stick by that decision was not that difficult.

But then there were the tough decisions. One of the toughest decisions was to carry on what I am doing despite when things are not improving significantly. There are times when you feel you are fighting a losing battle and you want to refocus on other things which are less demanding and more immediate in its effect of return.

As my knowledge of God's will grew, I realised that the important work that God has called me to do is to build up strong teams so that they will continue the progress of the church in the long term. Though the work of spotting potential in people is not difficult, training them, encouraging them, and helping them is not. Sometimes people can go from two steps up to three steps down. So you can understand how tiresome it can become. But this is the work that God has called me to do.

The choice once made need to be followed through with action. That takes effort. And it is these little choices that affects the goal you have set yourself that becomes that more challenging. Not only must you keep your eye on the ball. You have to keep your spirit up and focus on the vision of why you are doing what you are doing. To lose sight of it will be detrimental to the whole cause. But to remind yourselves on a regular basis what you are doing and why you are doing it, will enable you to execute how you are going to reach your goal.

I thank God that God has toughened me to make and follow through with tough choices. He has bestowed wisdom enough to get from one step to the next and see how everything will come together. It is wonderful when God allows you to learn from making easy choices and see the blessings that come with it, and then seeing Him teach you to make those tough choices but realise the greater blessings that lie ahead.

In conclusion, let's think about the choices we make. Whether they are easy or tough. Let us acknowledge God and He will guide us each step of the way.
