Interpersonal Relationship Story

Elder Chen from Taiwan gave us preachers a funny story to remind us about interpersonal relationships and how not to behave.

One day there was a rich man who had great wealth who had a sincere heart to invite ten of people to his feast. Unfortunately, out of the ten, only five turned up. The rich man came out and met them. Unfortunately because this person has a way of speaking that just rubs people up the wrong way. Do you know what he said to these five people?

"Huh, those should come didn't come!"

Of course you could imagine the how the five guests felt. Two of them immediately turned their heels and went. Surprisingly, the other three said, "Well, since we have come we may as well stay despite what he said."

Then the rich man came out again and saw the three that were left, and said, "Huh, those who should stay didn't stay!"

That really did it. Turning blue in the face, two of the remaining three guests went in disgust. Amazingly, one stayed.

Then the rich man came out and saw his one and only guest.

"You know," said the man, "you really should not have said the things that you have said. Look at what you did. Those things you said were really thoughtless and insensitive.

Without a blink of the eye the rich man said, "Those who should have heard it did not hear it!"
